RACE TWO

CONSTANTLYSIDEWAYS (5) has had 4 starts back this campaign with a pair of 2nd and a win. Settling behind the leader last start over the 2138m once he saw open road he sprinted sharply to score. That followed a 2m 4th behind GASMONKEY and he looks to get every chance here.

PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (1) Was hitting the line strongly 4 starts back from the 2nd line when running a 4m 3rd to SUBTLE DELIGHT and was luckless at his next outing. Buried away last start, this is the best gate he has seen in some time and can look to make the most of the advantage.

RACE THREE

COME CULLECT (1) put the writing on the wall with a fast-finishing 2nd to BETTORTHANSPECIAL in a FFA mares race 2 starts back. In mares only qualifying class last start she worked to the front from gate 6 and was never troubled to score an 11m win. From the gate she will take some catching.

CHANGE OF MIND (9) was a powerful winner here on Tues when going to the front from gate 2 and after being challenged in the middle stages held them all off in strong time. His Menangle form prior to that was in much higher class and he is a big danger in this.

RACE FOUR

THREE OF THE BEST (2) took out the Members Cup 3 starts back when going to the front early then releasing the pressure and using the passing lane to score. His past 2 runs through a Rising Stars Series were good from wide draws and from this gate he can look to repeat the Members Cup win.

PSYCHEDELIC (4) was 3.5m from THREE OF THE BEST in the Members Cup and at his next run ran a sizzling closing 800m when 2nd to STATEMENT MADE in a Rising Stars heat. In the final he settled in the running line and when launching his sprint sprouted wings to score. He is top form and can go close.

RACE FIVE

GAME WE PLAY (5) started from gate 5 last start and after going straight to the front over the 2138m looked to take them all the way. Running even sections he couldn’t see it out and faded off. Back to the mile is a big plus and going to the front he will have them chasing.

TOP TRIO (2) was a winner here over the mile last start after securing the run behind the leader and then using the passing lane to score. His runs leading up to that had been good and from this gate he can take an early shot for the front and then catch cover and will be right in the mix.

RACE SIX

JACK HAMMER (9) started from a wide gate and was working in the early stages when 3-wide looking for position on the grass at Warwick last start and faded late after the tough run. He put together successive wins 4 starts back and following through at the start to settle hand here can take the closing shot.

LUCIFERS LEGEND (2) is in great touch and shoots for the hat-trick and 4 from his past 5. He took out a qualifier last week over the 2138m when sent to the front from gate 5 and once in control kept a solid tempo to take them all the way. He looks to get a tough trip here, but is still a big danger.

RACE SEVEN

AVONNOVA (2) won this race last year at what was his swansong. He has returned since that and is in the form that is up to taking this out once again. Last start he worked across from gate 5 over the 2680m of the Christmas Cup and couldn’t quite last. With the gate advantage he will have them all chasing.

AZTEC BROMAC (3) settled in the running line last week and when angled to the outside sprinted strongly and arrived to take a half-head victory. That followed a 2m 3rd in the Be Good Johnny Sprint behind OUR HI JINX. He will settle handy again here and is a big danger once he can launch his claim.

RACE EIGHT

OUR OVERANOVA (15) was sent forward in the 1st round heats over this trip and working in the run fought on to be 6m from the winner. In the 2nd round he came with one sustained run and his closing sections were superb. He will need luck in the big field, but he can take his 2nd DJA final.

BLAZING UNDER FIRE (10) started fav in his 1st round heat and was working home in good order to finish 4th when 3m from the winner. In the 2nd round over the middle distance he was strong to the line once he saw space to take a 5m victory. Tactics with the handicap advantage will come into play, but he is right in this.

RACE NINE

HORACE FOXLEY (3) is in superb touch and took out a heat of this on Tues when going straight to the front from gate 4 and once in control dug in for the fight to take a half-head win. That followed 3 successive placed runs which followed 4 successive wins. First to the pegs here if he can sneak a stanza they will struggle to run him down.

COMPTON STREET (10) was looking to turn his fortunes around in the heat at his return to Qld and after working hard in the run when facing the breeze, he finished 4m in arrears of HORACE FOXLEY. Finding position here and limiting the work is the key to his chances and he can attack late.

RACE TEN

WITHALOTOFLUCK (8) took them all the way here 3 starts back over the mile in a sizzling all the way winner. He followed that with a 3rd when finishing strongly to get within 4m of SMOKEY QUARTZ. He lands the draw to follow a strong leader and taking his shot via the passing lane will be flying late.

FEEL THE COURAGE (1) looked to take them all the way over this trip from this same gate last start and after being softened in the early stages couldn’t see it out in a tough effort to be only 8m from the winner. He can look to lead throughout again and will be in front deep into the stretch.

RACE ONE

JACKAROO BROMAC (10) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins here over the 2138m and then the sprint trip last start. Taken back from gate 7 last start he attacked the line strongly and ran some strong closing panels to arrive in time to score. With plenty of tempo he can swoop home to take this.

MAX RICHTER (2) worked hard in the run 4 starts back and fought to the line to finish 2nd when 6m in arrears of MONTANA FALCON. He worked hard in the run at his next 2 and then last week from gate 2 went straight to the front and controlled the tempo for a 2m victory. He can go close again.
