Gavin was advised a warning would be placed on the mare for its racing manners.

Bumped with VILLADEN after the start. Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event despite the rider’s best efforts to improve into the race. Due to the seemingly disappointing performance of the horse Stewards ordered that a post-race veterinary examination be undertaken. This examination failed to locate any abnormalities. Stewards spoke with Trainer Mr W Pugsley who advised that this was the mare’s first run for his stable and felt she wasn’t suited by the track conditions and resented the kick back today. Stewards noted Mr Pugsley’s comments.

Began awkwardly. Performed below market expectations. Post-race vet exam – pathological cardiac arrythmia (first time). Must not start in a further race, trial, or jump-out until the Stewards have received a satisfactory report from a qualified vet which includes the results of: (a) an ECG of more than 60 seconds duration performed by that vet whilst the horse is at rest; and (b) a cardiac auscultation performed by that vet within 15 mins of the horse completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000m.
