When quest re perf, rider std that whilst his mount was not suited having to chase the leader which had set a fast tempo in the middle stages, it was nevertheless disapp not only in its failure to respond to his riding in the straight but particularly in the fashion in which it weakened noticeably over the final 100m. Vet exam no abnorm. Trainer told must trial. Trnr advised that the gelding would be spelled in the interim.

Grylls, rider of ESSAKA, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless in that shortly after entering the home straight, shifted in in order to secure clear running when not sufficiently clear of PINCH MOUNTAIN, causing that horse to be tightened on to the fence and significantly checked. Jockey Grylls was suspended from riding in races for a period of 11 days, to commence at midnight, 13 January and to expire at midnight, 24 January.
