When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer explained that the gelding sweated up badly prior to its last start at Toowoomba, which he felt explained the below average performance that day. He added that it was the gelding's first start over 1600m and he felt the extra distance was to the horse's benefit. He added he intended to aim the horse towards races over 1600m or longer going ahead with its preparation.
