Townsville Greyhound Racing Club – Rail replacement progress
The Townsville Greyhound Racing Club’s rail replacement project is progressing well, with significant milestones reached in recent weeks.
- All posts have been successfully installed.
- Grouting of the posts has been completed and is currently curing.
- The lure rail has been installed, with further welding work required.
- Irrigation works are due to be completed this week.
However, due to recent and ongoing rainfall, project timelines have been impacted. As a result, a one-week delay is now anticipated, extending the completion timeframe from the end of this week to the end of next week.
Weather permitting, a return to trials and racing is now expected in the week commencing April 7, 2025. The current travel subsidy will remain in place up to and including the day before the resumption of racing.
Racing Queensland appreciates the patience and understanding of all participants as it works towards ensuring the track is suitable and safe for racing.
Further updates will be provided as work progresses.
