1 Waikikamukau – Checked approaching the home turn then gave ground and trailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed near hind calf muscle injury the greyhound has been stood down for 14 days.

 

2 Farmor Standards – Checked approaching the home turn.

 

3 Farmor Left – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a near side fore dewclaw injury the greyhound has been stood down for 5 days.

 

6 Pocket Size – Late scratching at 11.45am – Near side shoulder injury.

Race 4 - DOVER & SONS MAIDEN (3) 288m

 

1 Sweet's Mistake – Collided with another runner entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

2 Farmor Elected – Slow to begin, gave ground soon after the start and trailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside fore flexor tendon injury the greyhound has been stood down for 14 days.

 

3 Farmor Too Many – Checked entering the home turn.

 

4 Maroney – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after making contact with the catching pen gate, which revealed bruising to the head the greyhound has been stood down for 5 days.

Steward’s spoke to trainer Darren Johnstone regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to Pursue 1st offence - 28 day stand down at Ipswich and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. Mr Johnstone advised the greyhound will now be retired.

3 Clawfoot – Dislodged its muzzle and showed signed of aggression towards another runner in the catching pen. Acting under the provisions of GAR 131 Stewards advised trainer Terry Guymer the greyhound will now be required to wear an aggression muzzle and will require two catchers at future events.

8 Wally's Boy – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after an incident in the catching pen, which revealed no significant findings.
