General: The following licensees were reminded of their obligations in relation to the Racing Queensland Greyhound Racing Dress Code under the provisions of GAR156(w):

Race 1 - GARBUTT SELF SERVICE STORE EASTER SPRINT TROPHY HEAT 1 OPEN 380m  

No matters of concern to Stewards.

Race 2 - JASON BOLWELL GREYHOUNDS EASTER SPRINT TROPHY HEAT 2 OPEN 380m

1 Jimmy Roo – (Beaten favourite) Slow to begin. Checked rounding the first turn.

3 Showtime Piper – Checked and dragged down rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the tail, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 10 days.

Race 3 - BILLY RUDD EASTER SPRINT TROPHY HEAT 3 OPEN 380m

6 Hara’s Jed – Contacted the running rail rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right foreleg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 10 days.

Race 4 - IN MEMORY OF JOHN STRACHIN EASTER SPRINT TROPHY HEAT 4 OPEN 380m

6 Max Gambles – Contacted the catching pen gate at the conclusion of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

8 My Magic Man – Contacted the catching pen gate at the conclusion of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 5 - AUSSIE PET & ANIMAL TRAVEL GRADE 4 (1) 380m

3 Home Game – Lost ground entering and rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right hindleg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. M. Partland regarding the greyhounds’ actions on the first turn. After considering all available evidence, the greyhound was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any rule.

6 Maddie Dutton – Conceded ground from the first turn. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the neck, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 3 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Mr. J. Reid regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR125 failure to pursue by reason of injury – 3 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

Race 6 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICES 5PW 498m

3 Emgrand Flash – Lost contact with the field in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to a right hind toe, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 3 days.

Race 7 - ALAN OLSEN MIXED 5/6 498m

1 Federal Bullet – (Beaten favourite) Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn. Checked entering the back straight.

8 Tipsy Wobbler – Very slow to begin. Appeared awkward in its action rounding the first turn. Appeared awkward in its action and conceded ground rounding the second turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right chest muscle, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Mr. D. Preh regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR125 failure to pursue by reason of injury – 5 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

Race 8 – TGBOTA OPEN 498m

No matters of concern to Stewards.

Race 9 - ROSS WILKIE CRABS MIXED 3/4 380m

7 Showtime Donald – Checked rounding the first turn and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 10 - LORRAINE HEATH GRADE 4 (2) 380m

7 Emgrand Express – Contacted the running rail rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left hind leg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days.

Race 11 - GIANTS SEAFOOD GRADE 4 (3) 380m

There was a brief delay to the start of this event due to the starting boxes malfunctioning, after rectification and testing this race was started approx. 2 minutes later than the advertised starting time.

7 Cash Pirate – Tightened and checked exiting the first turn and fell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 12 - RAMBUTAN RACING GRADE 5 380m  

3 Judged – Went up with the lids at box rise and took an awkward stride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
