FIND ME (IRE) – Laid in during the early stages of the home straight.
GUAC ON – Blundered at the start resulting in its rider becoming momentarily unbalanced in the saddle. Raced fiercely during the early stages and proved difficult to settle, shifted out abruptly approaching the 900m, raced extremely wide until then allowed to stride forward to a position outside the leader approaching the 600m. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. When asked to comment on the performance, rider C. Graham stated that the colt slipped as the start was effected which resulted in her losing ground, she then elected to try to settle the colt towards the rear of the field however GUAC ON commenced to race extremely fiercely. She further added that she then elected to allow GUAC ON to stride forward to the position outside the leader approaching the 600m, however when placed under pressure in the home straight, the colt failed to respond. Rider C. Graham also advised Stewards that in her opinion, the colt did not appreciate the heavy track conditions. Trainer K. Schweida reported that it was his intention to continue on with the colt’s preparation. Mr Schweida was advised that a warning would be placed on the colt’s racing manners.

Lerena reported that after being caught wide during the early stages, he was then obliged to work forward to a position outside the leader near the 1100m. He further added that the gelding didn’t appreciate today’s heavy track conditions.
EXPLOSIVE TYCOON – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. When asked to comment on the performance, rider M. Harley reported that his instructions were to ride the gelding conservatively in the early stages in an attempt to allow EXPLOSIVE TYCOON to settle as it was its first attempt over 1600m. He further added that from the wide barrier and after being slow to begin, he settled at the rear of the field, where in his opinion, the gelding resented the kickback in the early stages. He further added that when placed under pressure, EXPLOSIVE TYCOON responded to his riding until peaking over the final 100m and did not run out the 1640m of the event. Trainer’s representative C. He stated that PROMISCUOUS GIRL travelled well in the middle stages and he was unaware the margin he had established on the rest of the field in the middle stages. He further added that in his opinion, the mare did not handle today’s heavy track conditions and may have come to the end of its preparation. Trainer M. Hoysted confirmed the instructions issued however was surprised to see the mare establish a margin in the early and middle stages of the event. Stewards adjourned the matter to a date and time to be determined in order to review the sectional and betting data. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
