Race 8: Trainer R. Beaton was fined $200 for failing to declare a rider for AIR MARSHALL by the prescribed time under LR 67(1).

Race 1: BRC MILLINERS MARKET 11 APRIL QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE        1200 M

ISLAND BOY – When racing in restricted room passing the 200m, was obliged to steady when CYBER CITY was carried out by I'M A CONDYGIRL as ESTEE EMM rolled in slightly. Jockey J. Stanley the rider of I’M A CONDYGIRL and Jockey S. Collett the rider of CYBER CITY were advised to take greater care when shifting ground.
 
THE WHEELBARROW – Held up for a short distance passing 300m.
 
ALKEBULAN – Jockey M. Hellyer reported upon returning to scale that his mount over-raced throughout. Over-raced throughout.
 
ESTEE EMM – Approaching the 200m, shifted in momentarily.
 
I'M A CONDYGIRL – Hampered passing the 1000m after having its hindquarters brushed by READY FOR ZION which shifted out. Approaching the 800m, was momentarily inconvenienced when having to steady to avoid the heels of KING TAGALOA, which shifted in. Jockey B. Thornton, the rider of KING TAGALOA was advised to take greater care when allowing his mount to shift ground in future. Approaching the 200m, shifted out, carrying CYBER CITY out.
 
READY FOR ZION – Passing the 1000m, at the point of the turn, shifted out, contacting IM A CONDYGIRL. Held up for clear running on entering home straight until approaching the 300m.
 
SENSEI'S SURPRISE – Slow into stride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

CYBER CITY – Raced greenly early. Held up on entering the home straight until approaching the 200m when Jockey S. Collett elected to shift out to improve into clear running and was carried out further by I'M A CONDYGIRL.

Race 2: INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN PLATE      1200 M

DARLING TAKE CARE – Had difficulty obtaining clear running upon entering the home straight until the 200m.
 
LILICA EBET – Slow into stride.
 
SUNNY DISPOSITION – Slow to begin. In the vicinity of the 450m bumped with WINNING EDITION. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities When asked to comment on the performance of the mare, Jockey J. Stanley reported that in his opinion the pace of the race may not have suited SUNNY DISPOSITION and that the mare may appreciate further distance.
 
WINNING EDITION  – In the vicinity of the 450m bumped with SUNNY DISPOSITION.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. When asked to comment on WINNING EDITIONS performance, Apprentice E. Lang stated that her mount did not travel in the early stages and may appreciate further distance. Stable representative O. Peoples commented that the track conditions and tempo of the race may not have suited the mare today and was advised to report back on the mare’s condition in the coming days.
 
KETTLEBELL – Began awkwardly. Over-raced during the early stages.
 
MOSCOW CIRCUS – Momentarily inconvenienced when steadying off the heels of WOOSH KA BOOM. Jockey R. Maloney the rider of WOOSH KA BOOM was advised to take greater care when shifting ground.
 
 
Race 3: XXXX SIDELINE BEER GARDEN 3 MAY COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE         1200 M

MALOTRU  – Slow to begin. Jockey J. Bayliss reported that after being slow to begin he settled further back than anticipated. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
NO BRAKES – Slow to begin.
 
STARSONUS – Held up for clear running upon entering the home straight until approaching the 150m and was obliged to shift in to obtain clear running.
 
WINCHMAN – Difficulty obtaining clear running when entering the home straight. Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
 
RUINS OF ROME – Slow to begin. Over-raced during the middle stages of the event.
 
PRIDE OF ICE – Passing the 900m was obliged to restrain to avoid the heels of RUINS OF ROME which shifted in. Jockey M. Harley the rider or RUINS OF ROME was reprimanded under AR 131(a) for careless riding.
 
 
Race 4: LADBROKES CALCUTTA & LUNCHEON 13 JUNE CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1800 M

KALKANLI – Raced wide until the 1200m when ridden forward to obtain a leading position one off near the 1000m.
 
FERINO (NZ) – Approaching the 800m, commenced to over-race and elected to shift wider.
 
AROUND THE BUOY (NZ) – Held up on entering the home straight. Attempted to improve into a run where there was insufficient room to do so to the inside of ACES UP (NZ) when passing the 200m. As a result, when passing the 100m, had to be steadied and made contact with the running rail and was unable to be tested to the finishing line.
 
JUSTICE SERVED – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off-hind leg. Trainer R. Dart was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to racing again.
 
THE DARK SIDE – Awkward to begin and as a result was slow into stride. Held up from rounding the home turn until passing the 200m, when Jockey M. Du Plessis elected to shift out to obtain clear running. Near the 50m was obliged to alter course after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of SPANISH FIGHTER.
 
MAJESTIC ANGEL (NZ) – Near the 1600m commenced to over-race for a short distance while being restrained to obtain cover.
 
Race 5: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB CLASS 3 PLATE      1400 M

BANDASHA – Jockey A. Mallyon reported at scale that BANDASHA failed to respond to riding when asked for an effort in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards advised Trainer M Dunn that BANDASHA is required to trial satisfactorily prior to accepting for a future race. Trainer M. Dunn advised that BANDASHA would now be spelled.
 
TAREX (NZ) – Bumped with VALANTINO ROC (NZ) on jumping. Laid in for the majority. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
VALANTINO ROC (NZ) – Bumped with TAREX (NZ) on jumping. Over-raced early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 6: RACECOURSE VILLAGE CLASS 1 HANDICAP         1400 M

CARPACCIO – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly on heels leaving the 500m.
 
RHUVAAL - Raced wide throughout.
 
PANGAEA - Began awkwardly and bumped with OPTIMUS MAXIMUS. Became awkwardly placed on heels 1250m and had to be steadied and commenced to over-race for a short distance. Jockey E. Chaves reported upon return to scale that his mount was inclined to lay in over the concluding stages.
 
GREY IMPACT– Began awkwardly and bumped YEAH COPY.
 
RESURRECTED – Bumped PORT RIVER BILLIE on jumping and became unbalanced. Improved onto heels approaching the 1000m and was obliged to steady. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Jockey A. Mallyon reported that in his opinion the gelding may be better suited to further distance. When asked to comment, Trainer M. Dunn stated that it was his intention for RESURRECTED to step up in distance and drop back to a country grade race.
 
SUPERZOOM – Began awkwardly. Over-raced near the 1100m.
 
IRON POWER – Ridden conservatively from a wide barrier to obtain a position closer to the running rail at the rear of field. Over the concluding stages was obliged to alter course and shift in to avoid the heels of the weakening PORT RIVER BILLIE.
 
PORT RIVER BILLIE – Began awkwardly and bumped RESURRECTED.
 
OPTIMUS MAXIMUS – Blundered on jumping and was then bumped by PANGAEA. Raced wide throughout. Over the concluding stages, raced in restricted room to the inside of PANGAEA, which laid in.
 
YEAH COPY – Bumped. Over-raced near the 1100m.

Race 7: STRADBROKE SEASON BOOK NOW BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP       1600 M

SOLAR APEX – Passing the 800m was momentarily tightened when THE RIGHT WAY (NZ) laid in.
 
LIGHT OF BOOM – Bumped on jumping by THE RIGHT WAY (NZ). Over-raced in the back straight after being crossed near the 1400m. Jockey N. Callow could offer no explanation for the gelding’s poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying upper respiratory noises. Trainer A. Campton was advised that a veterinary certificate and the results of an endoscopy would be required prior to racing again.
 
THE RIGHT WAY (NZ) – Lost its off fore plate in running. Bounded in the air as the start was effected and bumped LIGHT OF BOOM. Laid in momentarily passing the 800m. Near the 450m was crowded and became awkwardly placed on heels.  
 
A DEEL OF HUMOUR – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
EXPECTANT – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 8: XXXX GOLD BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP         1200 M

AIR MARSHAL – Inconvenienced at the start when EXTESSIVE shifted in. Apprentice D. McGillivray dropped his whip approaching the 200m.
 
TRY EVERYTHING – Lost its near hind plate in running. Slow into stride. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
DEPUTIZE – Began awkwardly. When asked to comment on the performance of DEPUTIZE, Jockey J. Guthman-Chester stated that in his opinion the gelding had come to the end of its preparation. Trainer representative T. Pollard reported that DEPUTIZE will now be sent for a spell.
 
EXTESSIVE – Lost its off fore plate in running. Shifted in on jumping. Laid out in the early part of the home straight and became awkwardly placed on the heels of I AM MARVEL which was weakening.
 
VINDICTA – Obliged to alter course when entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying signs of respiratory distress. Trainer J. Bruce was advised that a veterinary certificate and the results of and endoscopy would be required prior to racing again.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Soft 6.
 
Race 9: SKY RACING CLASS 2 PLATE        1600 M

The start of this event was delayed approximately 4 mins owing to TIGON PRINCESS casting its off fore and off hind plate enroute to the barriers and requiring farrier attention. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
KIRIKAN (NZ) – Apprentice C. Collis reported that on straightening he attempted to improve into a run between EXPRESS PAYMENT and JOHNNY DA WOLF, however passing the 300m his mount failed to respond to his riding and was reluctant to improve into the run. When asked to comment on the performance of KIRIKAN, Trainers representative B. Killion stated that he had been pleased with KIRIKAN’s work leading into the event and the stable was unaffected by the recent weather conditions. He added that given KIRIKAN (NZ) had an interrupted run in the home straight between runners, the gelding was unable to sprint with the large weight when obtaining clear running over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
POUTCHEK (GB) – Dipped shortly after the start. Jockey C. Graham reported at scale that the mare felt awkward in its action on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be displaying a poor post race recovery.

Race 10: MAGIC MILLIONS GOLD COAST MARCH MAIDEN PLATE 1600 M
 
 
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow time for Stewards to consider an objection lodged by K. Wilson – Taylor, rider of the 2nd place getter (POSSIBILITIES) against the 1st place getter TRUMP CARD (NZ), ridden by N.Callow, alleging interference over the final 200m. It was established that approaching the 100m TRUMP CARD (NZ) shifted out under riding, Carrying POSSIBILITIES wider on the track. After considering the objection, bearing in mind the beaten margin and proximity of the winning post, stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that had the interference not occurred the result would have been affected and therefore dismissed the objection.
 
FIRE AND LIGHT – Laid out rounding the home turn. Held up for clear running from the 250m until the 150m before electing to shift out to gain clear running. As a result of this shift, PREACHABLE was taken out wider resulting in BRAINWAVE having to be checked.
 
TRUMP CARD (NZ) – Momentarily held up near the 450m and shifted out forcing
BRAINWAVE wider and placing that runner in restricted room for several strides. Laid in under pressure during the early part of the home straight. Commenced to weaken, crowded for room passing the 200m.
 
FOO FIGHTER – Began awkwardly. Shifted out under pressure passing 200m, tightening PREACHABUL Rider reported rep noise. Post -race vet
 
HENLEY ROOM - Bumped on jumping and again soon after. Approaching winning post became awkwardly placed on the heels or MAURITA and was obliged to shift out.
 
PREACHABULL – Passing the 300m was obliged to steady when tightened for room between FOO FIGHTER which shifted out and TRUMP CARD (NZ) which shifted in. Both Jockey M. Harley the rider of FOO FIGHTER and Jockey N. Callow the rider of TRUMP CARD (NZ) were reprimanded for this incident. Near the 150m was carried out by FIRE AND LIGHT into the running line of BRAINWAVE.
 
BRAIN WAVE – Near the 450m was obliged to take hold when TRUMP CARD (NZ) shifted out. Jockey N. Callow the rider of TRUMP CARD (NZ) was reprimanded pursuant AR 131(a) for careless riding.  Near then 200m was obliged to steady after being carried out by PREACHABULL which was carried out by FIRE AND LIGHT.
An inquiry into the incident was adjourned to allow further evidence from Jockey C. Graham.
 
POSSIBILITIES - Slow into stride. Carried wider on the track over the final 100m by TRUMP CARD (NZ) which shifted out under riding. N Callow, rider of TRUMP CARD (NZ) was advised to stop and straighten his mounts in future.
 
GRAPE EXPECTATIONS – Raced wide for the majority. Held up for clear in the early part of the home straight.
 
I DOUBT IT – Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 11: LADBROKES COMMUNITIES BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP       2162 M

AIDEN  – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
KIPTANUI – When questioned regarding KIPTANUI leading in today’s event, D McGillivray explained that after being caught wide in the early stages, rode positively to take up a leading position and was able to cross and lead passing the 1800m. He added that after attempting to restrain the gelding passing 1600m that his mount failed to respond and commenced to over race for a considerable distance. He further added that passing the 1200m his mount commenced to settle underneath him but was mindful that KIPTANUI had obtained a considerable gap to the remainder of the field and commenced to weaken towards the field on entering the home straight. Stewards noted his explanation.
 
COUNTER (GB) – Near the 2000m was tightened when DEVOCEAN (NZ) laid in despite its riders’ efforts. Over-raced near the 1800m.
 
MANNERHEIM – Apprentice C. Collis pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR131(b) in that he failed to ride his mount out over the final two strides of the event. In determining penalty, considering the beaten margin of 0.1 lengths, Stewards were satisfied that C. Collis’ negligence in failing to ride his mount out over the final two strides had cost MANNERHEIM fourth place. Apprentice Collis’ license to ride in races was suspended for seven days commencing midnight the 16 March 2025 until midnight the 23 March 2025. Apprentice Collis was advised of his rights of appeal.
 
 
OUTBURST– Began awkwardly and bumped ONE THING COUNTS.
 
ONE THING COUNTS - Over raced in the early stages. Jockey A. Mallyon reported that his mount commenced to weaken upon entering the home straight and began to make respiratory noises, and as such elected to not place pressure on his mount over concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer M. Dunn advised ONE THING COUNTS  would undergo a veterinary examination on return to his stable inclusive of a endoscopic examination and would report back the results in the coming days.
 
 
DEVOCEAN (NZ)  – Approaching the 2000m, laid in despite the efforts of its rider, hampering COUNTER (GB). Over-raced in the early stages. Jockey M. Rodd reported that upon entering the home straight, his mount commenced to weaken, and he became concerned with the action of the gelding. As a result, Jockey M. Rodd elected not to place pressure on his mount over the concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in its off foreleg. Trainer P. Shailer was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to racing again.
 
PAPAL MISS – Over-raced in the back straight.
