BRIGADOON JACK (D Peisley) raced greenly in the early stages of the event.

Near the 900m MOUNTAIN OF DREAMS (M Heagney) which was over-racing had to be checked off the heels of STAR CURE (R Wiggins) which shifted in slightly and away from RED DASH (B Hull). As a result of MOUNTAIN OF DREAMS being checked this gelding shifted out and made heavy contact with MASTER WINNER (App. M Wood) which was taken out on to BRIGADOON JACK.

After passing the 500m STAR CURE shifted in and brushed the running rail and became unbalanced.

SILVER ROCKET raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.

Jockey B Hull the rider of RED DASH which performed below expectations explained that RED DASH travelled well until placed under pressure upon entering the home straight and failed to respond to his riding from that point. Jockey Hull added that RED DASH may be feeling the effects of recent racing. A post-race veterinary examination of RED DASH (B Hull) failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.

Jockey K Pope was questioned regarding the poor performance of NEVERSAIDIT’SEASY today. Jockey Pope explained that the filly never travelled well at any stage and was disappointing.

Jockey A Mundy was questioned regarding the performance of LIVELY LILLIE today. Jockey Mundy explained that the filly worked hard from a wide gate in the early stages in an attempt to obtain the lead and as a result weakened over the final 100m. Jockey Mundy added that LIVELY LILLIE being first up from a spell would benefit from today’s race.
