Movable rail out 7.5 metres for the entire circumference.

RACE 1
CALOUNDRA SURF CLUB “SUPPORTERS CLUB” HANDICAP 1800 metres

M. Carson was approved as a late change of rider for DOUBLE DEAMON when J. Walk was indisposed.
PLAN which jumped away awkwardly was hampered shortly after the start when TELL DARCY shifted out.
When the pace slowed near the 1500 metres TEARS OF GOLD had to be checked off the heels of KING ZOFF and became unbalanced losing ground.
When being steadied off the heels of THAT DREAM after leaving the 1500 metres TELL DARCY shifted out making heavy contact with PLAN forcing STATE OF THE MIND wider on the track.
KING ZOFF was inclined to hang in over the final 400 metres.
Inside the 100 metres THAT DREAM shifted in and briefly tightened KING ZOFF and STATE OF THE MIND.

RACE 2
ALAN MACKLIN TILE SOLUTIONS “BOARD AND SKI” HANDICAP 1600 metres

CERTAIN SOUND was slow to begin.
Near the 400 metres REGAL ARCHWAY attempted to take a run inside ST. TATTLER where there was insufficient room and made heavy contact. REGAL ARCHWAY then had to be restrained behind the heels of RENFREW. M. Cahill rider of REGAL ARCHWAY was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
After passing the 400 metres CERTAIN SOUND was tightened between INVOICE and AL SECONDA when AL SECONDA shifted out to improve.

RACE 3
SUNCOTTO “NIPPLER” PLATE 1200 metres

A protest lodged by L. Deguara rider of 3rd placed CENTUPLE against DANZIGAH ridden by apprentice N. Evans being declared the winner alleging interference over the final 300 metres was dismissed.
ANOTHER GENERAL commenced to hang out making the 800 metres turn and continued to do so for the remainder of the event. Connections of ANOTHER GENERAL were advised a warning has been placed on the gelding regarding its racing manners.
Near the 600 metres SEA OF DARKNESS had to be steadied off the heels of RAYASAY.
Near the 500 metres CHELIAPINSK had to be steadied off the heels of CHAPEL GREY.

RACE 4
ONESTEEL REINFORCING “MASTERS” HANDICAP 1400 metres

BALETE DRIVE and SANKARI were both slow to begin.
After travelling a short distance BALETE DRIVE got its head in the air and over raced.
Leaving the 900 metres KOREELAH shifted out momentarily taking SPRUCED UP wider on the track.

P J BURNS (BUILDER) PTY LTD “SURF BOAT” HANDICAP 1400 metres

CANADIAN CUT was slow to begin.

RACE 6
ASHWORTH MARINE ENGINEERING “YOUTH DEVELOPMENT” HANDICAP 1400 metres

As jockey Peter Brown failed to arrive on course to fulfil his engagement on SILKSTONE he was subsequently replaced by L. Hill.
Leaving the 1000 metres BLERICK commenced to race ungenerously and shifted out making heavy contact with CHOIR.
Near the 850 metres DIAMOND TED struck the running rail when racing in restricted room inside CANNY DESIGN and BENTOTA. Both C. Maund (BENTOTA) and T. Ikenushi (CANNY DESIGN) were advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Passing the 800 metres BLERICK again whilst racing ungenerously, had to be restrained off the heels of CANNY DESIGN and shifted out making heavy contact with CHOIR.
Rounding the home turn BLERICK had to be steadied off the heels of CANNY DESIGN.
C. Maund rider of BENTOTA was fined the sum of $100 for returning to scale in excess of 1/2kg overweight.

RACE 7
JOHN THURTELL PLASTERERS “SURF RESCUE” HANDICAP 1000 metres

As J. Overall became indisposed as the rider of HEROIC FLYER and connections were unable to find a replacement rider the mare was subsequently withdrawn at 3.30pm.
After being slow to begin both CHESTER BAY and WANCHA made contact shortly after the start.
Near the 300 metres WANCHA and CHESTER BAY made contact.
After leaving the 200 metres HALF HOLIDAY ducked out abruptly when the gelding appeared to resent the whip. When HALF HOLIDAY ducked out T. Pattillo rider of ROY’S FOLLY was almost unseated and could not ride his mount out to the finishing line when the saddle shifted.
ROY’S FOLLY’s resentment to the whip was brought to the attention of trainer Peter Brennan.

RACE 8
NORTH COAST PLUMBING “IRB” HANDICAP 1400 metres

As A. Gillett was stood down by the Club Doctor following Race 7 he was replaced on ICE PATROL by K. Pope.
FOREST FLASH was slow to begin.
After being a little slow to begin PIET HEYN was tightened between RAPA-LEE and SWORDLY.
SWORDLY was caught wide in the early stages and was obliged to race wide throughout the event.



All winners were swabbed.
