Prize money increases - Showcase race meetings
Racing Queensland confirms that in conjunction with its recent announcement pertaining to thoroughbred prizemoney increases, the following race meetings have been afforded Showcase status for the period Friday 9 November through Thursday 6 Decemberinclusive:
- Friday 9 November – Rockhampton JC
- Friday 16 November – Mackay TC
- Friday 23 November – Townsville TC
- Tuesday 27 November – Rockhampton JC
- Thursday 6 December – Townsville TC
Commensurate with the change in status of these meetings, there will be prizemoney increases to races on each of the respective programs. In respect of the first of the Showcase meetings specifically, at Rockhampton JC on Friday 9 November, the amended program will now comprise:
- Breeders Plate QTIS 2yo Colts & Geldings Maiden Plate 1050m, was $30,000 plus QTIS bonuses, is now $32,500 plus QTIS bonuses
- Breeders Plate QTIS 2yo Fillies Maiden Plate 1050m, was $30,000 plus QTIS bonuses, is now $32,500 plus QTIS bonuses
- Open Handicap 1050m, was $14,000, is now $19,000
- Benchmark 65 Handicap 1300m, was $14,000, is now $19,000
- Ratings Band 0-60 Handicap 1050m, was $14,000, is now $19,000
- Maiden Handicap 1200m, was $14,000, is now $19,000
- QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1100m, was $14,000 plus QTIS bonuses, is now $19,000 plus QTIS bonuses
The remainder of the aforementioned race meetings will have their programs amended and be disseminated to industry at short notice.
The full schedule of Showcase race meetings (including Cairns) for the remainder of season 2018/19 will also be made available to industry momentarily, as will the amended programs for all thoroughbred race meetings throughout Queensland (for November-January inclusive) following the prizemoney increases.
