RACE ONE
GUNNAREIGN (1) makes her Qld debut for Chantal Turpin and arrives as a last start Penrith winner. Pressing to the front from gate 2 over the sprint trip in that event, she held on to claim a narrow victory. With good form around the tighter tracks of Penrith and Bankstown, she should handle the triangle and can look to dictate.
VASARI (10) set the tempo last start over the sprint trip at AP and it was only OLIVER WINKLE who had the cold sit on him, able to run past in a sizzling 1.51.5 mile. That followed a slick win when running them ragged in front. The 2nd line might change his attack here, but he is flying and can’t be discounted.
LITTLE CHANGE (5) was able to find the front from gate 4 last start and once in control was never in danger to claim a 6m victory. This will be a little tougher, yet he can still chime into the exotics.
STOMPEM (2) makes his Aus debut for the Dixon stable and will be 1st up from a break. Given a trial where he wasn’t asked for much at AP, he stays under notice and a forward showing is expected.
