“He’s fit and well and has been working well, so I’m hoping he can qualify again.
“This is his fifth country run at Gympie and if he can knock off this race, we won’t need to look at going to Kumbia and it’ll give us a few options before the Final in town.”
Peoples is also hoping it will be third time lucky for Centaur if the gelding qualifies for the Country Cups Challenge Final at Doomben on November 30.
“He’s run in the past two Finals when mum trained him,” Peoples said.
“He ran third to Echo Point two years ago and then ran midfield behind Fire King last year.”
