Cifrado also won last year’s Vo Rogue Plate, when it was run at Doomben, and Lipp is hopeful of defending the title with Superalloy following his Gold Edition Plate victory.
“Superalloy is a gutsy little horse and is one of the best three-year-old's in Queensland,” Lipp said.
“He’s very small and only stands about 15 hands.
“This is a very similar race as the Gold Edition so he should race well again and then he’ll go for a spell as he’s not a Magic Millions horse.”
At 76, Lipp may be in the twilight of his training career and has contemplated retirement several times but he’s training as good as ever.
