Gold Coast Turf Club meeting update - April 26

Racing Queensland confirms that a back-up race meeting has been programmed for the Polytrack at Gold Coast Turf Club on Saturday, April 26, in the event the club’s race meeting on its course proper on the day is unable to proceed.  

The track is currently a Soft 5 and with favourable weather the meeting should proceed on the course proper.

In the event of inclement weather which causes the track to become unsuitable for racing on, the back-up meeting can be introduced any time prior to 5pm, Friday, April 25.

The back-up race meeting’s program is:

• Open Handicap, 1200m, $28,000;
• Class 4 Handicap, 1540m, $28,000;
• Benchmark 65 Handicap, 2000m, $28,000;
• Benchmark 55 Handicap, 1540m, $28,000;
• Maiden Plate (Set Weights), 1200m, $30,000;
• Maiden Plate (Set Weights), 1540m, $30,000;
• 2YO Maiden Plate (Set Weights), 1100m, $30,000 + QTIS bonuses; and
• 3YO Benchmark 65 Handicap, 1200m, $28,000 + QTIS bonuses.

Deadlines for the meeting are as follows:

Nominations: Thursday, 9am;

Acceptances: Friday, 9am; and

Jockeys: Friday, noon.
