Sunshine Coast Turf Club meeting update

Racing Queensland confirms that a back-up race meeting has been programmed for the Polytrack at Sunshine Coast Turf Club on Sunday, April 13, in the event the club’s race meeting on its course proper on the day is unable to proceed.  

The track is currently a Heavy 8 and with favourable weather the meeting should proceed on the course proper.

In the event there is a deluge of rain which causes the track to become unsuitable for racing on, the Polytrack meeting will be introduced prior to 5pm, Saturday, April 12.

The back-up race meeting’s program is:

• Benchmark 70 Handicap, 1000m, $28,000;
• Benchmark 65 Handicap, 1400m, $28,000;
• Benchmark 62 Handicap, 2150m, $28,000;
• Ratings Band 0 – 55 Handicap, 1400m, $28,000;
• Benchmark 58 Handicap, 1100m, $28,000;
• Maiden Plate Set Weights, 1400m, $30,000;
• Maiden Plate Set Weights, 1000m, $30,000; and
• 2YO Maiden Plate Set Weights, 1000m, $30,000 + QTIS bonuses.

Deadlines for the meeting are as follows:

• Nominations: Thursday, 9am;
• Acceptances: Friday, 9am; and
• Jockeys: Friday, noon.
