2025 Queensland Winter Greyhound Racing Carnival

Get ready for an unforgettable experience at the Queensland Winter Greyhound Racing Carnival, taking place between May 17 and July 5!

With nearly $3 million in prize money up for grabs, this year's event promises to be even more exciting than ever before.

The $1 million Group 1 Brisbane Cup on July 5 will maintain its status as one of the world's premier greyhound races, headlining the Carnival with a staggering $650,000 to the winner. Featuring a diverse array of races, from maidens to masters, age-restricted classics, Group races at all levels, and including the beloved Origin Greyhound Series, this event is not to be missed.

The best local dogs will take centre stage on the Carnival's opening nights, as the successful QGOLD feature expands to two meetings on May 17 and 22. Restricted to greyhounds born and bred in Queensland, the QGOLD meetings will see more than $230,000 in prize money on offer over eight races.

The $225,000 Flying Amy Classic will once again be run at Group 1 level, marking the first top-line feature event to take place at The Q, coinciding with the complex's official opening event on June 7. The Origin Greyhound Series will reignite the interstate rivalry at its new home on June 12, featuring both theOrigin Sprint and Origin Distance worth $150,000 apiece.

The Brisbane Cup remains the crowning jewel of the programme. To be eligible, greyhounds must have competed in a race at Q2 Parklands prior to the close of nominations for the Brisbane Cup heats on Thursday, June 26.

Another pair of champion Queensland chasers will also be honoured on June 5, through both the Group 2 Cyndie's Magic and the Group 3 Dashing Corsair.
