Form Analysis: Marburg April 20

20 April 2025

RACE 1

CANT BE HELPED (4) just worked too hard last start to find the front and tired late but was entitled to. Needs to get across easier in this race to be a hope. Has run well previously leading.

ALLSHECANBE (1) was luckless last start at Marburg in a similar race on paper. Was shuffled out of the race and looked to be travelling well going across the line late.

LANEYS LAST (6) flashed late and just missed behind Jadez. This looks an even easier contest and is sure to be competitive.

GLENEAGLE HUNTER (9) starts from a poor barrier in this race which could make things difficult. Looks to bring in some of the better form.

SELECTIONS: CANT BE HELPED (4), ALLSHECANBE (1), LANEYS LAST (6), GLENEAGLE HUNTER (9)

SUGGESTED BET: CANT BE HELPED (4) to win.

RACE 2

CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN (4) looks the clear class runner of the race. Although he hasn’t been in great form he has been racing in slightly tougher races and appears to be gradually getting better each start.

DOOLITTLE DAYS (1) holds the key in the early stages of this race. Likely had the gate speed to lead and can run a good race from there.

MOLLIDOR (6) follows a gate speed horse and hasn’t been in the worst form. May be an improver with a soft trip on the pegs.

TAKIDAH (8) would need to lift slightly on recent form but meets a fairly moderate field.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN (4), DOOLITTLE DAYS (1), MOLLIDOR (6), TAKIDAH (8)

SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN (4) to win.

RACE 3

DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN (6) starts inside the back row but certainly looks the horse with the best form. If he is able to navigate a path away from the inside he should be right in the finish.

MORETTA (9) has been a long way off her best in recent times and trialled just fairly. Her best is certainly good enough to figure in a race of this nature.

JILLIBY PANDA (5) has very good gate speed and could potentially zip across in the early stages. Can mix his form at times but at his best would be in the finish.

OUR DOLLY (4) ran a much improved race last start when working hard to hold the front and battling on well enough. May be even better again in this with added fitness.

SELECTIONS: DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN (6), MORETTA (9), JILLIBY PANDA (5), OUR DOLLY (4)

SUGGESTED BET: DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN (6) to win.

RACE 4

LETTERKENNY BOY (7) looks the best handicapped of the main chances in this race. He chased in Bonnies Cam last start who looks one of the main players in the final and only has 10 metres to overcome early.

MADRIGAL (10) is off the biggest handicap in the race and will need to step away cleanly and fast to be any chance in this race. She ran fourth last start in a strong race.

WINDY HILL WALLY (8) is one of the class runners of the field and was very good last start making up late ground once clear. He is likely to need a strong tempo.

ONE LAST ROLL (3) can step away fast from the stand when at his best.

SELECTIONS: LETTERKENNY BOY (7), MADRIGAL (10), WINDY HILL WALLY (8), ONE LAST ROLL (3)

SUGGESTED BET: LETTERKENNY BOY (7) to win.

RACE 5

NATTY PAGGER (1) usually a good beginner from the stand this horse if he is able to find himself in front around the 2200m circuit at Marburg he would prove extremely hard to catch. Has had success at this track before.

TRIAGE (4) is a good stand start beginner usually despite some recent errors. If he is able to step nicely and land in a prominent position he looks well suited the way the handicaps have fallen for him.

BENJI HALL (7) was a good winner on Tuesday at Albion Park coming off a 20m handicap there in a good enough field. He loses the services of Pete McMullen which may prove key to his chances.

CALL ME TROUBLE (10) faces a very big handicap in this race which is likely to make his bid for victory a tough one. Has the class on his side.

SELECTIONS: NATTY PAGGER (1), TRIAGE (4), BENJI HALL (7), CALL ME TROUBLE (10)

SUGGESTED BET: NATTY PAGGER (1) to win.

RACE 6

ESTIVAL (3) worked hard last start and was still able to battle on for third. This race even looks a touch easier and she looks hardest to beat.

GRAVENAVA (5) was well beaten last start after racing on the leaders back. That was a much stronger race and she was right up on the speed. May be an improver with a softer run and she is right down in grade off some of her better efforts.

TARIFA GIRL (8) was well beaten last start seemingly without an excuse. She will need to significantly lift off that effort but was well supported early and this does look an easier race.

ROLLONX (9) can make a run into it from the back in this type of grade.

SELECTIONS: ESTIVAL (3), GRAVENAVA (5), TARIFA GIRL (8), ROLLONX (9)

SUGGESTED BET: ESTIVAL (3) to win.

RACE 7

DAGGY LAMB (6) appears the best handicapped horse in the race coming off the front mark. He was a fairly dominant winner last start after securing a good run. He’s a horse that does his best racing up on speed and can be put into the race.

BONNIES CAM (10) has put together a good record in stand starts and continued that last start scoring an easy win after finding the front. He can look to begin quickly and put himself in the race.

BETTING ORIGIN (11) worked extremely hard last start on a brutal tempo and was able to keep kicking there. He faces the biggest handicap in the race of 30 metres here which is sure to make things tough.

MONSIEUR DELACOUR (9) began quickly last start and was able to find leaders back. He didn’t get clear until very late and was somewhat unlucky in the end not to win.

SELECTIONS: DAGGY LAMB (6), BONNIES CAM (10), BETTING ORIGIN (11), MONSIEUR DELACOUR (9)

SUGGESTED BET: DAGGY LAMB (6) to win.

RACE 8

PUNTERS JEWEL (6) is a high speed sit sprinter that is now fourth up from a spell in this race. He draws inside the back row which looks awkward on paper but over the 2200 journey there’s a good chance the gaps will appear and he will get his chance.

SPORTING TRISTAR (1) is a gate speed horse and holds the key to the race in the early stages. Started from outside the back row at this track last start so is sure to be an improver from the improved gate.

MULLUM DOC (3) was driven aggressively last start and tired late to be beaten 50 metres. This race is a lot easier.

JAKKI MUN (4) has been a big improver in recent starts. Three runs ago he made a long wide run and made up good ground to get into third there.

SELECTIONS: PUNTERS JEWEL (6), SPORTING TRISTAR (1), MULLUM DOC (3), JAKKI MUN (4)

SUGGESTED BET: PUNTERS JEWEL (6) to win.

RACE 9

KHULAN KID (5) is a gate speed horse that may be able to zip over in the early stages. Should be be successful in his early challenge he would certainly give them something to catch.

HARRY KANE (3) hasn’t had things to suit so far since returning to QLD. He has got back and not had the tempo suit. He may look to push forward in this race and if he found the pegs or the lead he’d be extremely hard to beat.

VINCENT TIME (8) scored an impressive win two starts ago when leading and winning easily. He may need to work at some stage in this race.

THE TIGER ARMY (1) hasn’t shown a great deal of gate speed in recent times and may find it difficult to hold up in the early stages from gate 1. If he is able to hold a prominent position he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: KHULAN KID (5), HARRY KANE (3), VINCENT TIME (8), THE TIGER ARMY (1)

SUGGESTED BET: KHULAN KID (5) to win.
