RACE 1

BEEF CITY STARZZZ (5) hasn’t got the best numerical form but has been taking on stronger company in recent starts. He has very good gate speed and if he was able to clear in the early stages he would prove very hard to catch. He has previously won a trot rods heat in 2020.

SCORES (6) is faced by the widest draw in this race. He has good speed and does look well placed in this company. If he’s able to secure the right run into the race he should be in the finish.

MATAI REACTOR (3) although he is not often asked to go forward at the start he has previously shown quite good gate speed and could likely find himself in a good position going forward at the start. Looks one of the main hopes.

SELECTIONS: BEEF CITY STARZZZ (5), SCORES (6), MATAI REACTOR (3)

SUGGESTED BET: BEEF CITY STARZZZ (5) to win.

RACE 2

THE GROGMOTHER (6) has very good gate speed and can likely zip across early and find the front. If she finds the lead in this race she is likely to take plenty of catching. She generally tends to do her best work in front and hasn’t quite been able to find that position in recent starts.

PERFECT FEELING (4) does possess very good gate speed but hasn’t been driven that way in recent starts. He sat without cover last start and battled on gamely for fourth. He has been in good form and this race looks within his reach should be secure the right run.

JOGALONG COOP (3) ran a good race four starts ago at Marburg when running on well late. She looks the clear third pick in the race behind Perfect Feeling and The Grogmother and has the draw advantage on those horses.

SELECTIONS: THE GROGMOTHER (6), PERFECT FEELING (4), JOGALONG COOP (3)

SUGGESTED BET: THE GROGMOTHER (6) to win.

RACE 3

MISSTREPO (8) has been in particularly good form in recent times. She worked to the breeze last start and battled on really well into third behind Take A Chance in fast time for the grade.

NAUTIE GALVINATOR (7) could get a decent run through at the start on the back of a horse that gets out fairly in the early stages. Has been racing well and has good speed off a soft run.

MAYWYN TROUBADOR (6) is one of the classier horses in the field and looks well placed despite the wide gate. He is versatile and could be driven a number of ways.

ARENDELLE (2) did plenty of work last start and dropped out sharply in the concluding stages. May be an improver if he could find the pegs this time.

SELECTIONS: MISSTREPO (8), NAUTIE GALVINATOR (7), MAYWYN TROUBADOR (6), ARENDELLE (2)

SUGGESTED BET:
