Race 1: LIGHT HORSE BRIGADE QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1100M
 
BACKSTAGE – Trainer J. Gilmore was reprimanded pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider within the prescribed time.
 
VIENNA WHO – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider J. Lloyd was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race.
Race 2: FENCING SOLUTIONS QUEENSLAND Maiden Handicap 1100M
PIETARI – Raced greenly in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HOKITIKA – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
CARD BOARD CUT OUT – Near the 800m, inconvenienced when PIETARI shifted in before being corrected. Approaching the 600m, raced tight to the inside of PIETARI.
 
EQUINE ART – Trainer B. Lockwood was reprimanded pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider within the prescribed time.
 
TOTALLY UNDERRATED – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
NIRVANA THE STORM – Began awkwardly.  
 
Following the running of this race, Stewards met with a delegation of riders after concerns were raised about the deteriorating track, its safety and the visibility being experienced. After discussion, Stewards decided to postpone the remainder of the meeting at 2:00pm.
