GENERAL:
The following runners were scratched due to no rider being available: OUR FOLLY, PARA PARK CHANCE.
Stewards approved the following overweight:
R3 G. Kliese (MEDAL) +0.5kg
Apprentice rider L. Guernier who was not originally attending the race meeting was engaged after rider declarations and as such is listed as a late rider.
Race 1: BOWEN TURF CLUB Maiden Plate 1000m
MISHANI DELTA – Was fractious in the parade yard. Upon being led onto the course proper, reared over, harmlessly dislodging app. rider S. Pointon before becoming loose and breaking through the outside running rail. Was recaptured in the tie ups shortly thereafter. MISHANI DELTA was declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 1:25pm. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant findings. Trainer J. Manzelmann was advised a satisfactory trial would be required prior to future nominations being accepted. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on MISHANI DELTA to be refunded in full with the following deductions applied to successful wagers: 3c win.
Race 2: MCDOWALL’S PANEL WORKS QTIS Benchmark 55 Handicap 1000m
ANSWERING – Jumped in at the start bumping TSUNAMI FORCE.
HEARSAY – Began awkwardly.
SNITZAROO – Over raced in the early stages.
TSUNAMI FORCE – Bumped on jumping.
Race 3: JAMES LASER SERVICES Open Handicap 1000m
JOURNALISM – Fractious in the barriers, reared and dislodged app. rider S. Pointon. Declared a late scratching at 2:42pm on veterinary advice. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on JOURNALISM to be refunded in full with the following deductions applied to all successful wagers: 16c win, 14c place, 18c second place. App. rider S. Pointon was examined by the QAS officers and cleared to fulfill her remaining engagements. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Taking into account the geldings record and relevant circumstances today, a warning was placed on the geldings record in relation to its barrier manners and trainer J. Manzelmann notified.

Race 4: BOWEN SMALL MOTORS Ratings Band 0 – 50 Handicap 1280m
SECRET ENCRYPTION – Raced wide throughout.
KOITAKI SUNDAY – Began awkwardly.
VALENTINO MISS – Rider M. McDonald was reprimanded under the provisions of AR 211(1) for weighing in in excess of 0.5kg, being 0.3kg over the permitted variance.
Race 5: UPCOMING MOTHERS DAY’S RACE MEETING Benchmark 55 Handicap 1280m
AIDENABET – Bumped on jumping.
HE GOES BOOM – Raced wide throughout. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
LOOMING LEGEND – Jumped in at the start bumping TORQUE OF DREAMS which was carried out and bumped AIDENABET.
TORQUE OF DREAMS – Bumped on jumping.
Race 6: FILBY’S MOTOR Class 4 Handicap 1470m
UNDER THE LIMIT – Stewards noted rider M. McDonald exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m (+ three) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken. Became unwell when returning to scale, however recovered quickly once returned to the jockey room.
