ELROND – Approaching the 200m, eased when tightened between HE’SGOTTHESAY, which shifted out slightly and WILL IT SNOW (J. McMurray), which shifted in under riding. Apprentice J. McMurray was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. THE MESSIAH, which was following, was hampered and shifted out and away from its heels.

HE'SGOTTHESAY – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer G. Thornton was advised that in accordance with AR79(4), HE’SGOTTHESAY shall not without permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse, recognised training track, private training establishment, or other place for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of 3 months, and then only after: (i) a gallop of at least 1000 meters; or (ii) an official trial or jump-out; in the presence, and to the satisfaction of a Steward.
