OFFICIALS

GENERAL
Stewards approved the following over-weight:
Race 1: N Fazackerley +.50kg (57.5kg)
Race 1: CARPENDALE AGRI BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1000m
RUSSIAN DIVA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider lost nearside rein over the final 50m.
BLERIOT – Slow to begin.
TOUTE SWEET – Stewards permitted jockey N Fazackerley to ride +.50kg overweight as there were no other suitable riders available. Jockey N Fazackerley was fined $200 under the provisions of AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight.
LEMON SUPREME – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils in running. Trainer A Park was advised of the provisions of AR79, this being the first such occurrence. Trainer A Park advised that the gelding will most likely be retired.
SUTHERLAND – Raced wide for the majority.
Race 2: AMBROSE HAULAGE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
EXSIDEE – Stewards accepted the reasons from trainer C Geran for the late declaration of rider.
KNOWITALL FRANK – Over-raced early.
NYTHE – Slow to muster early speed. Stewards accepted the reasons from trainer C Storch for the late declaration of rider.
HEARTY HENRY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
PROPONENT – Bumped on jumping.
READY GO BILLY – Began awkwardly and bumped, as a result was slow into stride. Approaching the 100m shied and put in an awkward stride.
RELATIVES – Raced wide for the majority.
Race 3: B & W RURAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m
LITTLE SHOW – Slow to begin. Steadied off heels when over racing passing the 1100m. Raced three wide with cover for the majority.
RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS – Raced keen in the middle stages. Raced wide for the majority.
CHOCKABLOCK – Late scratching at 1pm on veterinary advice after being fractious in the float enroute to the track, sustaining a wound to the left hip. Trainer, W Nugent was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again.
SENSE OF HUMOUR – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
CASINO CAT – Slow to begin.
LUMINOUS WATERS – Over the concluding stages, App M Mankelow was obliged to stop riding when placed in restricted room to the inside of ARTIE’S DESTINY which was obliged to shift in when LITTLE SHOW (app M Goring) laid in when being hard ridden. App M Goring was reprimanded under AR131(a) for this incident.
SPILLA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 4: PHOENIX ELECTRICAL BM50 HANDICAP 1200m
Declaration of correct weight was delayed allowing rider of 3rd placegetter Jockey app J Metcalfe, to view the replays over the concluding stages. After viewing the video app Metcalfe elected not to proceed with any objection and correct weight was declared on the judges’ semaphored numbers.
ESTE DIA - Bumped on jumping.
NEW YORK GAL - Raced wide throughout. Inconvenienced by fallen horse and rider.
MOUNT DOVE - Raced wide for the majority.
SPLIT THE CASH – Over raced early.
LICENCED AND READY – Passing the 500m fell dislodging rider G Goomany. G Goomany was treated by QAS Officers for pain to both collarbones and stood down for his remaining rides. Mr. Goomany underwent a further assessment later in the day inclusive of a concussion test and cleared of any head injuries. Mr. Goomany was advised a medical clearance will be required prior to riding again. LICENSED AND READY underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the mare to be lame in the right foreleg. Trainer, D Knight was advised a veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again. An inquiry into this incident will be adjourned to a date and time to be fixed.
BIRAGUE – Held up for clear running between the 200m to 100m.
TSUKINO – Began awkwardly and bumped as a result was slow to begin. Momentarily hampered by fallen horse and rider.
ALALTUN (NZ) - Began awkwardly and bumped. Inconvenienced by fallen horse and rider.
DIVINE RENDEZVOUS – Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 200m held up for a short distance before shifting in for clear running.
Following the running of race 4, riders expressed concerns with the track surface between the 500m to the 300m. A track inspection by Stewards and delegates representing the riders inspected the track and after consulting with the Goondiwindi Race Club remedial works were carried out. After reinspection, the riding group was satisfied with the works carried out by the club and deemed it suitable for racing.
Race 5: KENWAY & CLARK GOONDIWINDI PICNIC CUP 2025 BATTLE OF THE BUSH OPEN PLATE 1200M
BEAN DANCING – Slow to begin. Passing the 800m was restrained off heels when over racing and again near the 500m. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
ELUSIVE EAGLE - Raced wide for the majority.
MOSCINI - Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
OFFICE JIM - Near the 200m was disappointed for a narrow run between JACK BE LUCKY and BEAN DANCING, both which shifted ground and thereafter had difficulty obtaining clear running over the concluding stages.
THIEF BY NIGHT – Jockey K Yoshida replaced G Goomany.
VILLADEN (NZ) - Raced wide for the majority.
HARLEQUIN FIELD – Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages when BEAN DANCING laid in under pressure.
SUNFALL – Began awkwardly and slow into stride.
GALEKA – Restrained near the 100m when attempting a narrow run between MOSCINI and VILLADEN both which shifted ground.
Race 6: DOYLE WILSON BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1400M
BARCLAY'S BANK – On entering the home straight was bumped by SMOOTH FLIGHT (App M Goring) which shifted ground when placed under pressure. App Goring was advised to show greater care under similar circumstances.
SMOOTH FLIGHT – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
CONTESSA NILE – Slow to begin.
SOOZIE MAREE – Raced wide for the majority.
