27c to the win, 25c to the placings.
Trainer T. Thomas was advised PAPER COWBOY would require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
Correct weight was delayed allowing Stewards, Apprentice N. Palasthy and connections of THE STORM to view the available films and ascertain if THE STORM was afforded a fair start. After taking evidence from starter A. Cooper, observing Steward A. Schofield and Apprentice N. Palasthy, it was established that the left side of the barriers opened slightly slower than the right, resulting in THE STORM’s head making contact with the left barrier arm, losing ground and having blood present in the mare’s mouth post-race. Subsequently THE STORM was declared a non-starter and upon the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on THE STORM to be refunded with the following deductions ordered applicable to all successful wagers:
8c to the win, 9c to the placings.
