GENERAL
The following runners were scratched by order of Stewards due to no available riders.
Race1: BAG OF WHITT, AURELIAN
Race 5: SAINT MARTIN
 
As jockey C Talor was unable to attend today’s meeting, rider changes were made as per the Steward summary.
 
Race 1:ST GEORGE JC CELEBRATING 150 YEARS OF RACING/ST GEORGE MACHINERY CENTRE BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1150m
 
TRUE PATRIOT - Raced wide throughout.
 
ALEACO – Raced wide throughout.
 
COLHOUN – Bumped on jumping.
 
RUPELTIER – Jumped awkwardly and was slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Eased down over the final 100m after the gelding blundered and the rider becoming unbalanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
COTTON CAPER – Bumped on jumping. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SHERWOODS ONE – Rider dropped whip at 200m.
 
 
Race 2: CROSS ENGINEERING / TAIT TOYOTA QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
 
Race 2 was delayed when SKYPORT LANE became fractious in the barriers and declared a late scratching on vets’ advice. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 2:13pm:
 
16 cents in the dollar for the win
18 cents in the dollar for the place on the winner
16 cents in the dollar for 2nd place
 
Trainer G Richardson was advised that SKYPORT LANE will be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again. A post-race veterinary examination revealed grazing to the off-hind hip. Trainer, Richardson was also advised that the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing or trialing again.
 
Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow 2nd placegetter app C Stuart (RELATED DUTY) to view replays over the last 100m to determine whether there was grounds to lodge an objection, however due to technical difficulties there was a delay in recovering the replays therefore trainer W Baker elected not to proceed with any objection and correct weight was declared on the judges semaphored numbers.
 
KRAKEN EDITION – Trainer, B Bowen was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its poor racing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.  
 
MUMMIFICATION – Jockey reported the gelding laid throughout.
 
DALEK – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame.
Trainer C Johnstone was advised the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing or trialing again.
 
RELATED DUTY – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
 
 
Race 3:PRECISION AERIAL / ST GEORGE COTTON GROWERS / SAGU PTY LTD 1000m
 
EFFLINE – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
GREEN PARK – Raced wide throughout.
 
MISS BIITTERSWEET – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
ARTOPIA - Stewards accepted the reason for the late declaration of rider. Bumped on jumping.
 
LIGHT UP THE DAWN – Buffeted between runners shortly after the start. Shifted wide passing the 800m.
 
READY TO MINGLE – Shifted out on jumping and bumped.  
 
INHISTIME – Blundered on jumping. Trainer, G Richardson reported the gelding lost both front plates in running.
 
 
Race 4:CUBBIE AG FLYER OPEN HANDICAP 1000m
 
ZAIDIN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
LOST MEDIA – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
AL ASH LAD – Prior to racing broke loose when in tie up bays. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Jumped awkwardly, bumped and slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 5: QLD COTTON ST GEORGE CUP RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP 1400m
 
Race was delayed due to PALATIAL PRINCE’S gate opening prematurely causing the gelding to jump early, however was pulled up a short distance later, returned to barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and cleared to start.
 
Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow 3rd place trainer J Taylor and app jockey C Stuart (CELEBRITY’S BEAU) to view replays of the home straight to determine whether any grounds for an objection were present. After viewing the available replays, Mr Taylor elected not to proceed with any objection and correct weight was declared on the Judges semaphored numbers.
 
DEMON DELIVERA – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure over the final 50m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have heat stress which required on course treatment.
 
PALATIAL PRINCE – Bumped on jumping and lost ground.
 
GUTHO – Bumped on jumping.
 
CELEBRITY'S BEAU (NZ) - Jumped awkwardly and bumped. Approaching the 50m was momentarily hampered when the improving DEMON DELIVERA laid in over the concluding stages.  
 
MARVIA MISS - Passing the 50m was awkwardly placed on heels when laying in under pressure. App S Pointon was reminded of her obligations when her mount is shifting ground.  
 
PRIOR THOUGHTS – Jumped awkwardly and bumped. Jockey reported the mare had choked down and would benefit with a tongue tie added to its race gear. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer M Hill was advised a warning would be placed on the mare for its poor racing performance.

KARAKAROO – Jumped awkwardly. Trainer B Bowen was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its poor racing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
