When asked to comment on the tactics employed, particularly in regard to the lead established on the body of the field, App C. Vitler advised that he was instructed to obtain a prominent position as is the gelding racing pattern, however the gelding commenced to race extremely ungenerously and proved difficult to restrain. Adding further that being familiar with the gelding, she had been reluctant to excessively restrain her mount however, concurred with Stewards in that greater efforts to ease the pace in the back straight would have been beneficial to her mounts finish efforts. BY BY MUSIC – Began awkwardly and marginally crowded between runners. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority.

Stewards inquired into the reasons BOLD RANSOM became tightened for room and was checked near the 150m. After taking evidence from the riders involved and reviewing the patrol footage Stewards determined that near the 200m STAROSHKA laid in before being corrected. MISHANI GANGSTER, then laid in and away FROM STAROCHKA despite the efforts of its rider and bumped with KING OF THE JUNGLE. KING OF THE JUNGLE then shifted in crowding THAT’S AN EXTRA which laid in having to be corrected by its rider and also crowded the running of CRICKETS CHIRPING which shifted in tightening the running of BOLD RANSOM which was checked and lost its rightful running. Given the marginal nature of the shifts from the runners involved, the efforts of their riders and the racing manners particularly of MISHANI GANGSTER, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that any rider/s were culpable for the interference and reported the matter as a racing incident. Nonetheless, all riders involved were reminded of their obligations to stop and straighten their mounts once they commence to shift ground in similar circumstances.
