Form Analysis: Redcliffe May 1

RACE 1 

TACTICAL ILLUSION (2) was good last start on stable debut for Stephen Cini. She raced off the pegs in that race and battled on nicely for fourth behind Fire And Passion who looked an impressive winner. 

KING BLING (1) trialled up reasonably when fourth in a recent trial. He wasn’t asked to do much there when appearing to run through the line reasonably well. 

UNCUT GEM (7) zipped off the gate nicely last start before handing over to Animore. They ran solid time there recording a 1.58 mile rate which looks good enough for this maiden. 

BOSTON FIRE (5) was only asked to extend late in a recent trial and hit the line nicely there. May get back from the wide draw.

RACE 2 

MY SCIMITAR (1) has very good gate speed which gives him options in this race. He impressed last start when finding the position 3 back the pegs he attacked the line strongly behind Little Hoofananny. 

PLANET DOWNS (7) was a last start winner after finding the top. He didn’t win by far but the horses he beat appear to have good ability and it may turn out to be a strong form race. 

HEZA MAYWYN (8) was luckless last start when badly held up at a crucial stage by a tiring runner. He has options early and should be competitive in this field. 

VINTAGE EDITION (5) was very competitive three runs ago when sitting without cover there. Last start took on a stronger race and was well beaten.

RACE 3

A ROCKNROLL STAR (2) has good gate speed and might’ve found a race where he can find the front. He is having his first run for the Dan Russell stable. 

MY ULTIMATE RUDI (4) was a runner up two starts ago in a stand start at Marburg before galloping out last start in the Goldstrike Final. Looks a suitable race. 

WILLROBY (3) had no luck last start when racing on the pegs. He closed off nicely once clear. He should secure a good run from the draw in this race. 

HEAVENS BABY (7) is likely to secure an economical run inside the back row. She will need luck to get clear at the right time.

RACE 4 

TULHURST SMOOCHER (7) will be hoping the horse she’s following out early is able to hold the lead and that would give her the perfect run in the race. She is third up from a spell and should be nearing peak fitness. 

WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (9) led and handed over last start hanging for fourth there not beaten too far. He looks to have landed in a much easier race and should prove hard to beat. 

GOTTA DREAM (4) was forced to do the work last start outside of Signor Jujon and wasn’t beaten too far. If he was able to find the top he’d likely become the one to beat. 

SIGNOR JUJON (1) will need to repel the early challengers to hold his position and that may prove crucial to determine the result of the race. Looks some chance if able to drive through and lead early.

SUGGESTED BET: WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (9) to win. 

RACE 5

TARIFA GIRL (4) returned to form with a last start win after racing leaders back. This race looks a step up off that. She has gate speed and may look for the top early. 

DESIGNER JEWEL (2) has very good gate speed and used that last start before handing over. She has seemingly raced better with a trail and may elect to take a trail again over the 2040 journey. 

THE HARRIS HAWK (9) has been in consistent form of late. He was forced wider in the concluding stages last start after getting back in the run which made it tough to get into the race in a dash home. 

ISLA AND ADDIE (10) has sat without cover her last two starts and battled on fairly. She has previously been competitive over this journey in this type of field. 

SELECTIONS: TARIFA GIRL (4), DESIGNER JEWEL (2), THE HARRIS HAWK (9), ISLA AND ADDIE (10)

SUGGESTED BET: TARIFA GIRL (4) to win. 

RACE 6 

OYSTER STRIDE (1) always seems to go best when able to find the front. He found the front last start and ran well there to score. Looks to get another opportunity to lead and win again. 

DIPPED IN SILVER (7) should get the perfect run through in the early stages. Was a good winner two back at Redcliffe scoring over Calculated Risk after starting on the back row. 

SHEVCHENKO (9) was first up from a long spell last start. She was able to lead there and controlled things well enough to hang on and win. This race doesn’t look any tougher despite the back row draw. 

KHULAN KID (5) was first up from a spell last stat when zipping across early and taking a sit. He went to the line without a clear run and should be fitter for that effort.

SUGGESTED BET: SHEVCHENKO (9) to win. 

RACE 7

DREAM MELODY (4) has good gate speed and might be able to zip across onto the front end. She led them up two starts ago and was good there behind Barry Limbo. 

CYCLONE TONY (8) is the class runner of the field and his best would be very hard to beat in this race. His recent trial he wasn’t asked for too much presented into the clear late and hitting the line strongly. 

TIGER TOMMY (3) has really returned to form in recent times having placed in his last five starts. He ran on strongly last start into third. 

OGEDIE (5) is a gate speed horse that’s really been quite impressive this time in. He’s been able to rate good time out in front recording three victories leading from his last five starts along with a second. 

SELECTIONS: DREAM MELODY (4), CYCLONE TONY (8), TIGER TOMMY (3), OGEDIE (5)

SUGGESTED BET: DREAM MELODY (4) to win. 

RACE 8

SIX TIMES A LADY (9) was a dominant winner last start after holding the lead early. She looks well placed again in this race and is likely to be hard to beat. 

OCTOBER RACKETEER (4) is well graded in this company if he can recapture some of his better form. His run three starts ago appeared to suggest he might be nearer his best before putting in two fair efforts. 

GOOD WORD THAT (8) did some work last start and was well beaten behind Ultimate Miki. This race looks significantly easier and he looks one of the top chances. 

ILLBEWATCHING (2) has gate speed and may be able to obtain the lead off Animore who is a recent graduate from maiden company. If he could obtain the lead he’d prove hard to beat. 

SELECTIONS: SIX TIMES A LADY (9), OCTOBER RACKETEER (4), GOOD WORD THAT (8), ILLBEWATCHING (2)

SUGGESTED BET: SIX TIMES A LADY (9) to win. 

RACE 9

ITS ELECTRIFYING (9) has been dominant so far in his time in QLD and is looking to record his sixth consecutive victory in this race. He will need to navigate a back row draw but is likely to be put into the race at the earliest opportunity and looks hardest to beat again. 

VINSANITY (8) wasn’t at his absolute best two starts ago when leading and appearing to have very chance when running into fourth. He returned to form last start with a strong second placing behind Cheer Leader. 

HES SWEET (1) has the draw in what looks one of the toughest races he’s nearly ever contested. If he can find the right horse to follow he can be thereabouts the minor money at the finish. 

HAY THERE JOE (6) hasn’t had the best of luck in recent races which have looked a touch deeper than this one. The top two chances look hard to beat but her certainly looks one of the class horses out of the remainder of the field.
