RACE 1: QPSIG QTIS 3YO CLASS 1 PLATE – 1300M
ALL GET CLANGED – After competing on Saturday, the horse underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
RACE 2: PSP VIDEO F&M MAIDEN PLATE – 1050M
As J. Lloyd was to be overweight, A. Spinks was substituted as the rider of IN HER HAND. J. Lloyd was fined $100.
HIGHWAY QUEEN – Hampered on jumping.
MAGIC PEBBLES – Slow to begin.
MAMBO MISS – Hampered on jumping. Checked from heels at the 900m.
MISS BEAUJOLAIS – Began awkwardly.
ISAVERDICT – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
SASSY DRAGON – Got its head up when being restrained from heels at the 800m. Raced wide for the majority of the event. L. Rolls reported that after being caught wide, he elected to restrain his mount to try and find cover. He added that the horse proved disappointing in the run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
RACE 3: TRACKSIDE PHOTOGRAPHY C,G&E MAIDEN PLATE – 1050M
AGIA MONI – A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the horse had the thumps.
GLENTURRET – Hampered on jumping. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
MOSPORT – After being fractious in the barriers the horse underwent a veterinary examination behind and was cleared to start.
ON OR ABOUT – Jumped awkwardly.
THAT’S DESPICABLE –Hampered on jumping.
CHAOTIC ART – Tightened for room on jumping.
RACE 4: CLEAR SUMMER LODGE BM70 H’CAP – 1050M
CARRY THE DRINKS – Restrained off heels when overracing at the 900m.
SHOULDA TO SHOULDA – Hampered shortly after the start.
EXCELARTIE – Jumped awkwardly. Raced four wide throughout. Hung out rounding the home turn and for the majority of the straight. Trainer L. Garrett was advised that a warning will be placed on the horse’s racing manners.
RACE 5: CLOUD 9 ANZAC DAY RATINGS BAND 0-60 H’CAP – 1050M
SIR BLAZE – After competing on Saturday, the horse underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Blundered on jumping away. Steadied after improving into a narrow run near the 300m. Trainer G. Cornish reported that the gelding had sustained a laceration to the off foreleg.
DANCETIME – Raced four wide throughout without cover.
CHEEKYBOI – Blundered on jumping away.
RACE 6: BARRIER REEF POOLS CLASS 3 PLATE – 1650M
CAMBO’S MATE – Jumped away awkwardly. Improved into a narrow run where there was insufficient room near the 500m and had to be checked from heels.
SPEEDY GRAPHITO – Raced wide in the early stages.
TEQUILA SLAMMER – Shifted out to improve leaving the 900m and raced wide without cover from that point onwards.
DANGEROUS LIGHT – After competing on Saturday, the horse underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
KATELETTE – Became awkward making the first turn. Apprentice B. Appo reported that in his opinion the mare is better suited over distances of 1200m and added that it did not handle today’s track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
RACE 7: XXXX GOLD CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M
JOHNNY BE QUICK – B. Stewart dropped his whip at the 200m. B. Stewart explained that he rode his mount hard in the early stages in an endeavour to comply with instructions and take up a handy position, however, after doing so he was aware that a number of runners to his outside were showing superior speed and as he was concerned he was making too much use of his mount, he therefore elected to steady and allow runners to cross. He said when crossed by SUPER MARS, that horse then steadied, resulting in him being placed one position further back than he had anticipated. He added that from the 500m to the 400m he was held up behind runners and could not improve his position when he wanted to.
APPLE JACK – Held up rounding the home turn.
DYNAMIC STAR – Raced wide throughout.
FACE THE SUN – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly. Trainer B. Ahrens was advised that a warning will be placed on the horse’s barrier manners. Raced wide throughout.
EMBER GLOW – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
RACE 8: RAILWAY HOTEL RATINGS BAND 0-60 H’CAP – 1400M
As N. Day was indisposed due to personal reasons, M. Hellyer was substituted as the rider of WIGGLE WIGGLE.
SKYTASTIC – Slow to begin.
SECRET PROCESS – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
UTMOST FAITH – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
WIGGLE WIGGLE – After competing on Saturday, the horse underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly.
SPINIFEX FIRE - Slow to begin. Raced three wide throughout without cover.
