Race 2: Due to no available riders, both DIAMOND DEGREE (Trainer John Manzelmann) and CHARM TELLER (Trainer Fred Weiland) were both scratched.
Due to an injury sustained at the Townsville THB Meeting 4 April 2025, Jockey C. Meehan was unable to fulfil his riding engagements at this meeting and late rider changes were approved as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
The following horses THEGIRLSGOTTHIS and BEAUTIFUL LIES not having started for a considerable time, both underwent a pre-race vet check and were passed fit to start.

Post race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the off hind.
BRING ME TO LIFE (NZ) – Approaching the 200 metres, bumped with NEVETON on two occasions when shifting out under pressure. Had to steady and was restrained leaving the 100 metres when racing in restricted room, between RECRUITER and NEVETON which laid in under pressure.

LADY DE VEGA – Slowly away tailing the field until working home after leaving the 600 metres.

After viewing the footage, jockey L. Morrison did not wish to proceed and correct weight was declared on the judge’s semaphored numbers.
BEAR’S BEST – Slow to begin. When questioned in regard to its performance today jockey I. Teh’s instructions were to ride quietly and be saved for a late run to finish off however BEAR’S BEST failed to run on when placed under pressure. Trainer A. Bailey confirmed the instructions and further added that in his opinion the sultry conditions on the day and that the gelding may not have backed up from its previous start at Mareeba 29 March 2025 where a telling factor. Mr Bailey subsequently advised BEAR’S BEST had done well since returning to its stable base.
RIVALON – Slow to begin.
CALL ME HILTON – Over-raced early and raced wide for the majority of the race.
LAST LINE DANCE – Laid out under pressure from the 200 metres until corrected by rider.
