SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
Due to predicted sultry weather conditions, this race meeting was conducted within the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Caring for Racing Animals in Extreme Heat Policy.
Starting times were amended to the following -: Race 1 – 1.10 p.m. Race 2 -1.50 p.m. Race 3 2.29 p.m. Race 4 3.05 p.m. Race 5 3.40 p.m. Race 6 4.20 p.m. Race 7 4.55 p.m.
GENERAL –
The following runners were late scratching’s by order of Stewards at 9.45.am as no riders were available.
Race 1: BASQUE
Race 2:MAGNATE (Nominated rider delayed due to flight issue)
Race 7:COUNT OF CARFORD
Apprentices T Orr and C Lowe were both unable to take engagements prior to Race 3 due to amended airline travel times. As such the following riding changes were approved Race 1 Atlantic Ridge (J Barbarovich) – Hi Zero (N Yadi) - no claiming apprentices available.
The following riding changes were approved due to Jockey M McDonald being indisposed –
Race 3 – TWENTY-THREE WALL – Apprentice T Orr (No senior rider available).
Race 6 – FREEASHIN MOON – Apprentice B Youngberry (No senior rider available).
Jockey M McDonald was advised that a medical clearance will be required before he rides again.
Race 1: KING WELLS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 900 M
ATLANTIC RIDGE – Jumped in and collided with BITTERGREYMAGIC.
BITTERGREYMAGIC – Tightened for room at the start.
HI ZERO - Raced three wide throughout.
PHILADELPHIA FREE – Jumped awkwardly.
MR KOBO - Raced wide throughout.
NASA - Slow to begin.
SUNYANI – Raced wide.
Race 2: SAHARA CANADIAN CLASS 4 PLATE 1100 M
CHASETON – Blundered momentarily at the 750 metres.
HOTSTEP – Slow to begin.
ROCKETING TO WIN – Raced wide.
ALLANON – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
TEQUILA DANCER – Apprentice M Campbell advised that the mare was having it’s first start on a dirt surface and resented the kickback.
Race 3: ALL FIVES MAIDEN PLATE 1100 M
The race was delayed from the advertised starting time to enable Jockeys delayed via air transport to arrive on course.
REGAL SPY – Checked on jumping. Raced wide.
TWENTY-THREE WALL – Slow into stride.
REGAL JUDGEMENT – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Race wide in running and then ran wide rounding the home turn.
ROCKBARTON RACER – Hampered at the start. Raced wide.
ROGUE 'N' READY – Jumped out abruptly taking ROCKBARTON RACER and JUNGLEDELI onto REGAL SPY which was then checked.
Apprentice C Lowe pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132 (7) in that she used her whip in an excessive manner (9 occasions) prior to the 100 metres. Apprentice Lowe was fined $500 - AR132 (7).
WAGONGA (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
JUNGLEDELI – Hampered at the start.
Race 4: KERR STREET BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1450 M
VICTORY BAY (NZ) – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide.
JETSKI- Raced wide.
ONCHAO - Steadied at the 200 metres when another runner inside shifted ground.
FAR REACHING – Slow to begin. Apprentice M Campbell was reprimanded for shifting ground at the 200 metres causing ONCHAO (J Barbarovich) to be steadied.

Race 5: MR ZIESEL OPEN HANDICAP 1200 M
THERESABEARINTHERE – Bumped and blundered shortly after the start. Raced three wide throughout.
JUST STOP IT – Shifted wider on the track when leading from the 500 metres.
THE BROTHERHOOD – Shifted out on jumping and brushed THERESABEARINTHERE which blundered.
KARBORS – Slow into stride.
Race 6: CHEVAL D'ECLAIR QTIS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200 M
BUTE MOVES - Slow into stride. Ran extremely wide making the home turn.
THE EIGHTH I AM - checked at the 700 metres when crossed by OUR BENEFIT.
OUR BENEFIT – Apprentice Jockey T Orr pleaded guilty to a charge to careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that he failed to allow sufficient room when crossing THE EIGHTH I AM to lead at the 700 metres causing THE EIGHTH I AM to be checked. Apprentice Jockey T Orr licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence on 17 November 2024 and expire midnight 23 November 2024.
DANGEREUSE – Raced wide throughout.
BITTERBLUE (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
RISK IN ROME – Raced wide. Tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed superficial grazes on both back legs and fetlock regions. Trainer R Burow advised that the gelding would be sent for a short spell.
Race 7: CRUISE CONTROL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1450 M
REVVED UP READY - Blundered on jumping and raced wide.
CLOGS – Raced wide.
GRAND POPE -Slow to begin and then raced wide.
THE LAST CRUSADE – Hung in over the concluding stages.
PARISIAN LADY – After tailing out , Jockey J Barbarovich retired PARISIAN LADY from the race on the home turn when the mare was making respiratory noise. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities and Jockey J Barbarovich reported that the mare may have choked down after getting its tongue over the bit.
Stewards instructed Trainer T Parry to trial the horse in a tongue tie before racing again.
