As G. Watson was indisposed, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.
Race 1: Like Us On Facebook QTIS 2yo H'cap – 1000m
1st Criaglea Evelyn 2nd My Girl’s A Dragon 3rd Craiglea Barina 4th- Wild Az Will
JET BURST – Jumped slowly and trailed the field throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer G. Townsend was advised that the filly must barrier trial satisfactorily prior to being permitted to race again.
WILD AZ WILL – Slowly into stride.
MY GIRL’S A DRAGON – Shifted out abruptly soon after the start, bumping with another runner, and then was taken across heels near the 800m and was checked as a result. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be suffering from mild heat stress.
COCO LUCIA – Bumped by another runner soon after the start. Inclined to race greenly throughout.
CRAIGLEA IMPREZA – Shifted out near the 800m, taking another runner out across heels.
CRAIGLEA ZING – Underwent a post race veterinary examination and found to be mildly shin sore in both forelegs.
Race 2: WWW.Townsvilleturfclub.aom.au Maiden H'cap – 1300m
1st Prosperum 2nd Khadija 3rd Zedaheel 4th- Dawn’s Diamond
WIDGEE LAD – Stood flatfooted as the barriers opened, losing considerable ground. Trainer Mr R. Finch was advised that the gelding would be required to complete 1 satisfactory barrier trial prior to its next race start.
FEAR THE BELLE – Inclined to overrace for a short distance near the 900m.
ZATOCHIO – Had to be restrained off heels when attempting to take a narrow run approaching the home turn.
OUR RECIPE – Inclined to hang out from the 700m to the winning post. Trainer Mr R. Finch was advised that the gelding would be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial prior to its next race start.
DAWN’S DIAMOND – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 3: Townsville Diesel Machinery Services Benchmark 60 H'cap – 1609m
1st Nudgee 2nd Show Us A smile 3rd Duke Celeste 4th- Go Girlfriend
CASHED UP BULLY – Slowly away.
GUITARIST – Slowly into stride. Raced wide throughout. Jockey W. D’Avila was fined $200 for a breach of Rule 137(a) in that he used his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
GO GIRLFRIEND – Inclined to overrace for a short distance passing the 1300m.
DUKE CELESTE – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
Race 4: Maccas Synthetic Grasses Class 3 Plate – 1400m
1st Try Me Dol 2nd Better Call Saul 3rd Tiryns 4th- Canonized/Restart
CANONIZED – Bumped with another runner soon after jumping away. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and shortly after straightening. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
CLEVER ONE – Bumped with another runner soon after jumping away. Bumped with another runner near the 1300m.
LAGUNA VISTA – Bumped with another runner near the 1300m. Became awkwardly placed on the heels of another runner in the early part of the home straight, and again became awkwardly placed on heels close to the winning post.
TRY ME DOL – Inclined to overrace passing the 1200m.
THE PANTZ – Raced wide throughout.
Race 5: Town Automatics Class 4 H'cap – 1200m
1st Lover Of Life 2nd Okay Swift 3rd I’m Mariah 4th- Splash Out
BOYS SPLURGE – Bumped with another runner on jumping away.
RANGILA – Bumped with another runner on jumping away.
HOUSE OF HINGUS – Slowly into stride.
I’M MARIAH – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
MADAME GINOUX – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
AVELLINO – Approaching the 950m, LOVER OF LIVE and OKAY SWIFT improved to the outside of AVELLINO. Soon after LOVER OF LIFE appeared to shift in away from OKAY SWIFT and in doing so took AVELLINO in on to the running of SCHNELLES PFERD which was checked severely. RANGILA, which was following, improved onto the heels of SCHNELLES PFERD and was also checked severely, losing significant ground and hampering STRICTLY MAGIC. After taking evidence from all riders and viewing the patrol footage, stewards afforded App. R Payne, rider of LOVER OF LIFE, the benefit of the doubt as to whether she was sufficiently clear of riders to her inside, and also advised apprentice Payne to ensure she gave riders to her inside more room in similar circumstances.
SCHNELLES PFERD – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained superficial wounds to off side hind leg.
Race 6: RSD Plumbing Open H'cap – 1000m
1st Hotel Paradiso 2nd Wishful 3rd Starlistic 4th- Cheval Argente
CLOUD DANCER – Declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 8.31 am when the horse was unable to be loaded onto its float for transport to the course.
KAYAN – Jockey M. Morris was fined $100 for negligence in presenting with incorrect colours, causing a delay to the start of the event.
DEL PALIO – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.
SMOOTH GENERAL – Slowly into stride and trailed the field throughout.
SHEKOU – Raced wide in the early stages.
Race 7: Jepson Media Benchmark 55 H'cap – 1000m
1st All Rosie 2nd Model To Exceed 3rd Public Affair 4th- Ninetynine
STARMOSA – Raced wide throughout.
WINDSOR GOLD – Raced wide throughout. Jockey J. Long was fined $200 for excessive use of his whip in using it 8 times prior to the 100m, 3 more than the permitted number.
MIGHTY BENDER – Jockey G. Kliese reported he was unable to test his mount fully in the home straight due to being held up for clear running.
CRAIGLEA ZIP – Jockey A. Coome reported he sustained a minor injury to his toes on his left foot when leaving the barriers. No ambulance attention was required at the time.
