RACE 1: RICHARD ADAMS HOMES CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1300M
As the rostered veterinary surgeon failed to arrive on course, the start of this race was delayed until an alternative veterinary surgeon was sourced. As a result, all race times were put back one race, with Race 6 rescheduled to 8:16 pm
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow trainer B. Currie to view the photo finish print for 2nd.
LILY RUSH – Bumped at the start and lost ground.
DRIVING WHEELS – Bumped at the start.
IL PADRONE – Raced wide throughout.
RITZY BELLE – Raced wide throughout.
RACE 2: HELLOWORLD TOOWOOMBA CITY/GARDEN FINANCIAL RATINGS BAND 0-62 H'CAP – 2000M
FIRST STIMULUS – Slow to begin.
ROYAL DYNASTY – After being caught wide in the early stages, rider F. Jervis allowed her mount to stride forward and obtain a position closer to the running rail near the 1300m.
LOST THIEF – Fractious in the float en route to the track, examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
OUR PLAYDOUGH – Raced wide throughout.
COUP D’ETAT – Slow to begin.
I AM THE WARRIOR – On return to scale jockey Beau Appo could offer no explanation for the gelding’s disappointing performance, other than that the horse may not have run out the 2000m of today’s event.
BEAUTIFUL ASSASSIN – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by K. Kemp for the late declaration of N. Thomas as rider. Raced wide throughout.
COUSIN BEN – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
RACE 3: ASPECT ARCHITECTS AND PROJECT MANAGERS CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1200M
BAM’S PRINCESS – Lost valuable ground and was held up from the 700m until rounding the home turn when placed at the heels of a runner which had commenced to weaken. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
IT’S ALL IRISH – Bumped on jumping away and was then steadied to avoid the heels of another runner and as a result settled further back in the field than anticipated.
KAYENTA – Raced wide throughout.
RACE 4: DENTAL ELEGANCE MAIDEN H'CAP – 1300M
CHA CHA CHOIX – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Held up from the 600m for a short distance and then when attempting to shift out to improve rounding the home turn was disappointed for a run and lost ground. Taken in by another runner leaving the 200m and was steadied. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
RED GLAZE – Laid out rounding the home turn.
FIZZICALLY WICKED – As Bradley Appo was ill after riding at Stanthorpe, N. Thomas was substituted as rider. After beginning well, raced keenly in the early stages and as a result raced further forward than anticipated.
JAGNIWAS – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
RACE 5: DAVID BURNS LAWYERS MAIDEN H'CAP – 1300M
OUR BOY BOLT – Slow to begin.
ROCKABELLA BOY – Trainer B. Currie was fined $300 for the late gear change of blinkers off and winkers and tongue tie on.
RED HOT SECRET – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure over the final 100m.
RACE 6: NEWLANDS CONSTRUCTIONS QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 870M
ILOVEVEGAS – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. On returning to scale jockey B. Appo reported that his mount hung out and proved difficult to ride rounding the home turn and in the home straight.
COOLMUNDA – Tightened for room and checked near the 800m when RHYTHM OF LIGHT shifted out whilst racing greenly.
